2nd Congress of the Confederate States of America
The 2nd Congress of the Confederate States of America marks the second and final term of the Congress , the legislative assembly of the Confederate States of America . The deputies of this electoral term were determined by elections in November 1863 and could only exercise their mandate during the first year of the two-year electoral term, since the existence of the Confederate States was practically ended with the loss of the Civil War . In contrast to the Provisional Confederate Congress, which consisted of only one chamber, the congress consisted of two chambers, an upper house, the Senate, and a lower house, the House of Representatives.
Session periods
All sessions of the 2nd Confederate Congress were held at the Capitol in Richmond , Virginia , the capital of the Confederate States.
