Jehu Amaziah Orr

Jehu Amaziah Orr (born April 10, 1828 in Anderson County , South Carolina , † March 9, 1921 in Columbus , Mississippi ) was a prominent politician of the Confederate States of America . He was a Presbyterian .

South Carolina born Jehu Amaziah Orr was the younger brother of James Lawrence Orr . Jehu later moved to Mississippi, where he was elected to the state's House of Representatives in 1852 . Orr was a member of the Mississippi Convention of Secession in 1861 . He was also a deputy in the Provisional Confederate Congress between 1861 and 1862 and a member of the Second Confederate Congress between 1864 and 1865 . After the American Civil War he served as a judge between 1870 and 1876. He died on March 9, 1921 in Columbus, Mississippi and was buried in the Friendship Cemetery there.
