Georges Dreyer

Georges Dreyer (* 1873 in Shanghai ; † 1934 ) was a Danish doctor and scientist .

Life

At the time of his birth, his father was stationed in Shanghai as a member of the Danish Navy . In 1900 he completed his training as a doctor in Copenhagen . From 1907 to 1934 he was Professor of Pathology at the University of Oxford . During the First World War he was a senior medical advisor to the Royal Air Force . Later he directed several highly regarded pressure chamber experiments . a. Were the basis for the use of oxygen-enriched air in mountaineering. His findings were used in the British Mount Everest Expedition in 1922 .
