Georges Duvernet

Georges Duvernet (* 1870 ; † 1955 ) was a French sculptor .

Life

Duvernet's creative phase falls into the 1920s and 1930s, in which he made a name for himself primarily through his numerous bronze sculptures. In addition to animal sculptures, he made chryselephantine statuettes made of bronze, ivory and marble of mostly women in athletic positions (including nudes) in the style of Art Deco .

His most important sculptures include the figures Oblivion and Dancer with three rings , which were put on in different versions. Other of his works are titled dancer or deux danseuses .
