Georges Lemmen (born November 25, 1865 in Schaerbeek / Schaarbeek , † July 5, 1916 in Uccle / Ukkel ) was a Belgian painter.

Georges Lemmen studied at the Académie des beaux-arts de Saint-Josse-ten-Noode . In the early 1880s he was influenced by Edgar Degas and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec . In 1899 he became a member of " Les XX ". He was also a founding member of “La Libre Esthétique”.

He worked as a critic for "L'Art Moderne". Under the influence of James Ensor and James McNeill Whistler , he became a follower of pointillism around 1890 . He visited London twice in 1892 and 1894 . In 1894 he turned to decorative arts and created a number of posters, bookplates and ceramics. Around 1900 he decided to devote himself exclusively to painting. In 1904 he joined the “Vie et Lumiere” association.

Around 1910 he visited the south of France to paint some works about beach life. In July 1915 he moved to Uccle, where he died the next year.
