Georges Mouveau (* 1878 ; † April 4, 1959 in Paris ) was a French critic, painter and set designer.

Life

Mouveau worked almost exclusively as a set designer for the Paris Opera . He created congenial sets for the performances of the Ballet Suédois under the direction of Rolf de Maré . He made the acquaintance early on through theater and music. a. by Maurice Ravel . Mouveau was also a member of the Les Apaches artist group .

Together with the architect René Joubert , Mouveau founded the Société DIM (Décoration interieure moderne) in 1919 .

Mouveau was married and had two children; Lucienne and Pierre , who later also became a painter.
