Georges Rawiri

Georges Rawiri (born March 10, 1932 in Lambaréné , † April 9, 2006 in Paris , France ) was a politician and poet from Gabon .

Rawiri, who comes from the west of Gabon and who finished his school career in Alès , had been Omar Bongo's political friend since 1964 in a variety of roles in politics in his home country. In 1967 he acted as ambassador to France.

Later he was finance minister for many years, foreign minister from 1971 to 1974 and vice-premier in the 1980s; He was elected President of the Senate twice, in 1997 and 2003.

Rawiri was married several times and had several children, u. a. Angèle Rawiri , who also worked as a writer.
