Georges Schaeren

Georges Schaeren (born April 23, 1882 in Biel ; † January 15, 1958 there ) was a Swiss entrepreneur and watchmaker .

Life

Schaeren graduated from a watchmaking school in Solothurn . He worked for various watch manufacturers and in 1918 he and his brother Henri Schaeren founded the watch manufacturer Mido G. Schaeren & Co. , which settled in Biel in 1946 .

The watches produced were continuously developed and with the introduction of the Multifort in 1934, the first watch was presented which could combine four properties: automatic movement, waterproof , anti-magnetic and shock-proof .
