Georgi Anatolyevich Selma

Georgi Anatoljewitsch Selma (* 1906 in Tashkent , Uzbekistan , † 1984 in Moscow ) was a Soviet photographer and photo correspondent.

In the early 20s he studied camera technology at the Proletkino film studio and became a student at the Russfoto agency. From 1924 to 1947 he was a photographer for Russfoto in Moscow and Tashkent, published in Pravda Wostoka (Truth of the East). From 1928 he used a Leica 35mm camera. From 1936 to 1945 he was on the Red Army photography staff and photojournalist for the Izvestia newspaper . After the war he was a reporter for magazines and since 1962 for the Novosti press agency .
