Georgi Nikolayevich Sarubin

Georgi Nikolayevich Zarubin ( Russian Георгий Николаевич Зарубин * April 11 . Jul / 24. April  1900 greg. In golitsyno, Ujesd Serdobsk, Saratov province ; † 24. November 1958 in Moscow ) was a Soviet ambassador .

Life

Georgi Sarubin joined the CPSU in 1919 . In 1931 he completed a degree in textile technology . From 1931 to 1935 he headed a workers' university named after Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov . In 1940 he entered the service of the People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs of the USSR. 1941 headed the department of consular services. From 1941 to 1944 he headed the America department. From 1944 to 1946 he was ambassador to Ottawa . From 1946 to 1952 he was ambassador to Great Britain . On June 14, 1952, he was appointed ambassador to Washington, DC , where he was accredited from September 25, 1952 to January 7, 1958. On February 20, 1958, he was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister of the USSR.
