Georgian calendar
The (old) Georgian calendar (not to be confused with the Gregorian calendar ) is based on a cycle of 532 (28 × 19) years ( Koronikon , Georg . ქორონიკონი ); after this period, the days, weeks and months repeat exactly. The 13th cycle began in AD 781, and the 14th cycle in 1313. As the beginning of the coming date of Easter (Paschalstil) or 1. September (Byzantine beginning of the year) in question.
The Koronikon dating can be found on documents , inscriptions and coins . Before the Koronikon year, the year since the creation of the world (e.g. according to the Byzantine calendar) is given.
The year numbers are written with letters of the Georgian alphabet (Mrglowani or Chuzuri), introduced by "ႵႩႱ" = "Koronikon".
