Luggage carts ( platform baggage carts , platform wagons ; in Switzerland also platform wagons ) are vehicles with which luggage and express goods are brought from the reception building to the platform to the passenger trains at stations or from there. Nowadays these carts are becoming rarer in western countries, as passengers no longer check in large amounts of luggage on train journeys, or luggage can no longer be checked in; instead, travelers transport their luggage themselves.

Depending on the railway administration and the volume of traffic, there are different designs: simple wheelbarrows , two-wheeled carts, two-axle vehicles with turntables and wagons with electric motors and batteries as energy storage. The electrically powered vehicles are also used to pull several two-axle cars. At large train stations, there are often special underpasses with ramps for luggage vehicles to avoid crossing the tracks.

This equipment is also used accordingly at airports and on passenger ships.
