Gerd Falkner

Gerd Falkner (born December 17, 1950 in Bernburg ) is a German sports scientist , sports historian , author and publicist . Falkner is editor-in-chief of the specialist ski journal FdSnow and director of the German Ski Museum (DSMP). He deals with ski history.

Career

Falk grew up in the Harz Mountains and was briefly active in competitive sports as a cross-country skier . He then studied sports, history, philosophy and sociology. The doctorate to Dr. phil. took place in 1984.

Afterwards, falconer worked in teaching and research. In the areas of sports history, sports sociology, training and movement sciences, methodology and didactics, sports psychology. For several years he worked as a full-time trainer, official and managing director in sports associations and in commercial sports. He also had teaching assignments as well as project and lecture activities at state and private educational institutions in Germany and abroad. He is the author of several books and publications. He took part in international specialist conferences with his own contributions.

Falkner has qualifications as a ski instructor and A-trainer (Nordic) and has been involved in voluntary work since his youth, especially in skiing, and particularly in the training and further education of ski instructors and trainers of all skill levels.
