Gerd Höllerl

Gerd Höllerl (* 1942 ) is a former Austrian basketball player , official and trainer.

Life

In 1964, Höllerl took part with Austria's national team in the elimination round for the Summer Olympic Games. He played 68 international matches. Höllerl played at club level from 1960 to 1964 and 1966 to 1970 for EK Engelmann Vienna, Union Kuenring Vienna (1966 to 1970), in the early 1970s (and until 1974) then for ATSV Mounier Wels, 1974/75 at Union Hernals-Schotten and from 1975 to 1977 at BSC Asturia Klosterneuburg. In 1972 he was the best basket hunter in the Bundesliga with 571 points in the Wels colors. As a player, he was national champion eight times (1960 to 1962, 1966 and 1967 to 1970).

As a coach, Stefan Höllerl's father was in charge of BK Klosterneuburg from 1977 to 1979 and led it to the championship title in 1978, from 2002 he was Vice President of the Austrian Basketball League (ÖBL) and from 2003 of the Austrian Basketball Association. Höllerl's main job was as a lawyer.
