Gerd Mannes (* 1969 in Leipheim ) is a German politician of the AfD . He is a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Life

Mannes completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter and then studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and the École Centrale Paris . He works as an engineer in Bavaria.

Gerd Mannes is a member of the Bavarian AfD . In the Bavarian state elections in 2018 , he ran as a constituency member in the Günzburg constituency as well as on position 2 of the AfD in the Schwaben constituency . He moved into the Bavarian State Parliament as a member of the Committee on Economics, Regional Development, Energy, Media and Digitization.

Mannes is considered a moderate politician of the AfD. He spoke out several times for a clear demarcation of the party from right-wing extremist positions.

Mannes is married for the second time and has five children. He lives in Leipheim .
