Gerd Rück

Gerd Rück (* 1938 in Tönisheide ) is a German carnivalist and former handcrafted speaker , who achieved wide fame as a globetrotter .

Life

Rück taught as a teacher at a community elementary school. He became known to a broad national audience through his involvement in the carnival. Since his first appearance in the KAJUJA Bütt in 1958, he has become a fixture in the Rhenish Carnival. It became particularly famous for its depiction of the globetrotter . With a colorful, open umbrella in his hand, a flat cap and a clown's face, he was one of the defining faces of the Cologne Carnival for decades . He also acted as President of KAJUJA for five years. In 1985 he also helped the rennet broom to make its first carnival appearance there.

Since 1993, Rück has been the holder of the honorary title Magister linguae et humoris Coloniensis (master of the Cologne language and Cologne humor) of the carnival association KG Fidele Aujusse Blau-Gold vun 1969 eV
