Gerhard Brunner (* 1963 in Nuremberg ; pseudonym : Gige ) is a German cartoonist and illustrator .

Live and act

After graduating from high school, Brunner completed training as an information electronics technician and initially practiced this profession for several years, including as a specialist author, until the increasing success of his artistic work enabled him to work independently as a draftsman.

Brunner's work revolves around the representation of job-specific situations, which are dealt with in short strips with usually three to six images. The focus of his work here is on law, music and handicrafts, which is why many of his cartoons also appear in industry-specific specialist publications. In addition, he has recently been experimenting with larger formats for the humorous treatment of complex objects such as research in the humanities and cultural studies.

Brunner publishes articles in SteuerberaterMagazin , Deutsches Handwerksblatt , the magazines monthly for German law , Photon , recording magazin , PhotonProfi . His character “Steuerberater Schmidt” appears in a regular cartoon series in the Neue Wirtschaftsbriefe , which has now appeared as an independent publication in three anthologies.

In addition, his work for the monthly for German law was published in two anthologies under the title ADVO-Cartoons in the Cologne publishing house Dr. Otto Schmidt publishes.
