Sixx: AM is the solo project of Motley Crue - bassist Nikki Sixx .

Band history

In 2007, Nikki Sixx recorded a soundtrack for his book The Heroin Diaries with producers James Michael and DJ Ashba . They decided to compose the name of the band from the names of the individual members. Although it was announced that the band would only exist for this album, the considerable success of the first single Life Is Beautiful ensured that the band played a few gigs - including as the opening act for Korn . In 2008 they were part of the Crüefest Tour by Mötley Crüe. They played together with Trapt , Papa Roach and Buckcherry as the opening act. In addition, all singers of the named bands played together with Mötley Crüe the track Saints of Los Angeles , which was released on the album of the same name.

In January 2011 Nikki Sixx confirmed on his Facebook page that the album This Is Gonna Hurt will be released in May and the book of the same name will be released in April 2011. The guitarist on the album is again DJ Ashba, although he was the new guitarist in February 2009 by Guns N 'Roses . The band does not have a permanent drummer. The third album Modern Vintage was released in October 2014. The fourth album Prayers for the Damned was released in April 2016.
