Gerhard Dust

Gerhard Dust (* 1952 in Soest ) is a German entrepreneur and inventor. He is the main shareholder of PolyCare Research Technology GmbH & Co. KG.

Life

At the age of 16, he began his professional career by training as an industrial clerk at Milke Bau in Soest. After graduating from college and completing his military service, he studied economics with a focus on economics at the Duisburg University of Applied Sciences and graduated there as the best of his year with the title Dipl.Oec. from. While still a student, he began working as a European manager for overseas working groups at Ed. Züblin AG in Duisburg .

After completing a part-time doctorate at the University of Bayreuth , he began working in the book trade . After 6 years at Koehler u. Volckmar, a leading book wholesaler, most recently in the position of authorized signatory and deputy. Operations manager, he moved to Georg Lingenbrink GmbH in 1991, where he was responsible for the Hamburg, Frankfurt and Norderstedt locations as managing director.

From 1999 he was managing director of Libri GmbH, responsible for the planning, construction and ongoing operation of the logistics location Bad Hersfeld , where he gained a worldwide reputation as an expert in book logistics. During this time he worked as founding managing director of the transport company Booxpress and as a member of the board of Top Holding AG.

Parallel to these activities, Dust also developed and supported start-ups as an investor, such as computeruniverse.net, an electronics mail order company that is now part of the Burda Group.

Influenced by the earthquake disaster in Haiti in January 2010, he founded PolyCare Research Technology GmbH & Co.KG together with the inventor Gunther Plötner in Thuringia in February 2010 with the aim of developing a concept for simple, plug-in emergency and permanent accommodation made of polymer concrete ready for the market. In autumn 2010 he invented a process for embedding luminescent particles in the surface of polymer concrete and founded the Lumino® brand.

In the meantime, Dust, as CEO of PolyCare, has developed a market-ready concept that allows the inexpensive manufacture of durable and environmentally friendly components made of polymer concrete . The special feature of the development allows the use of local raw materials, such as B. desert sand and on the other hand, the design of the plug-in elements ensures an extremely fast and precise construction without the use of trained specialists or heavy construction equipment.

Gerhard Dust is co-founder and board member of the Internationale Wirtschaftsrat e. V., Berlin.

He is married and has a daughter.
