Gerhard Fallent

Gerhard Fallent (born January 26, 1960 in Grünburg ) is an Austrian environmental technician and politician ( ÖVP / FPÖ ). Fallent was a member of the National Council from 1999 to 2002 .

education and profession

Gerhard Fallent attended elementary school in Steinbach an der Steyr from 1966 to 1970 and then the secondary school in Grünburg. In 1974 he switched to the technical college for mechanical engineering in Steyr. Fallent is also a graduate of an energy consultant training course.

Fallent worked as a designer between 1979 and 1989 and as a self-employed environmental technician from 1989. He is the operator of the Laussa wind farm and was the managing director of the Austrian photovoltaic interest group "Photovoltaic Austria". Fallent is currently teaching eco-energy technology at the Wels University of Applied Sciences and is the owner and manager of the technical office "Future Projects", which initiates and carries out projects in the field of sustainable development.

From 2008 to 2010 Gerhard Fallent was managing director of ACT - Austrian Clean Technology, the competence center for environmental and energy technology and services.

politics

Fallent was active in the municipal politics of Laussa for fourteen years from 1991 and, in addition to his role as a councilor, was vice-mayor between 1991 and 1995 and a member of the municipal council between 1995 and 1999. Fallent was a member of the ÖVP parliamentary group until 1995, became an independent council in 1995 and joined the FPÖ parliamentary group in Laussa in 1997. In 1997 he was elected deputy district chairwoman and from 2000 was also general secretary of the FPÖ. Fallent represented the FPÖ between October 29, 1999 and December 19, 2002 in the National Council, where he was environmental and development policy spokesman. In 2004 he worked for half a year as a "consultant for political coordination" in the Vice Chancellery at Hubert Gorbach and appeared in the 2006 National Council election in the "We for Wolfgang Schüssel " committee.

Private

Gerhard Fallent is married and has two daughters. He lives in Laussa.
