Gerhard Grossberger

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gerhard Großberger (* 1962 in St. Georgen am Steinfelde ) is an Austrian photographer and photo artist .

Life

Großberger has been involved in photography since the 1970s, back then with analog material in the darkroom. With the switch to a purely digital workflow , he also began to redefine his style as an artist . His works are narrative productions that are reminiscent of a tableau vivant . Stories with sometimes funny or absurd pictorial elements, but always with a lot of elegance. Gerhard Großberger also uses the pseudonym lumenesca, an abbreviation from the Latin words lumen (eye) and esca (food). This word creation is intended to illustrate that art is food for the eyes.

He has high demands on technical quality. This can also be seen in the fact that he himself follows the entire design process, from the idea through the photographic implementation to the processing.

Since 2014 he has been living and working as a freelance photographer and photo artist in Ulm , Germany .
