Gerhard Johann Lischka

Gerhard Johann Lischka (* 1943 in Muntlix , Austria ) is a cultural philosopher, media theorist and curator. He lives and works in Bern .

Life

Lischka studied philosophy, literature and art history in Munich and Bern. From 1969 he organized symposia, organized campaigns and curated exhibitions. He designs radio and TV programs on the topic of new trends in philosophy and contemporary art. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Essen, the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI), the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, the F + F School for Art and Design Zurich and the Bern University of the Arts HKB active.

In 1985 he curated the exhibition Everything and Much More at the Kunstmuseum Bern and the Kunsthalle Bern . In 1992 he curated the exhibition The Unleashed View at the Kunstmuseum Bern and the Seedamm Kulturzentrum Pfäffikon SZ.

In cooperation with the Kunstmuseum Bern and the Benteli Verlag Bern, he led the symposia series Am Nerv der Zeit with the philosophers Jean Baudrillard , Vilém Flusser , Niklas Luhmann , Paul Virilio and the artists Marina Abramović and VALIE EXPORT and Peter Weibel from 1992 to 1996 .
