Gerhard Müller (politician, 1920)

Gerhard Müller (born July 9, 1920 in Vetschau , Niederlausitz) is a German politician.

Life

Gerhard Müller attended elementary school from 1927 to 1931 and from 1931 to 1934 the upper secondary school in Vetschau, then until 1939 the upper secondary school in Cottbus and the secondary school in Guben. After graduating from high school, he joined the Reich Labor Service, and from 1940 to 1945 he did his military service in the Air Force. From 1945 to 1948 he studied law in Tübingen . Between the first state examination in 1948 and the second state examination in 1952, he worked as a trainee lawyer in Reutlingen and Tübingen. He then worked as a government assessor at various district offices before moving to the Ministry of the Interior in 1953. In 1954 he became a councilor, in 1956 a senior councilor and in 1963 government director.

In 1964, Gerhard Müller was elected District Administrator for the Reutlingen district. He held this office until his retirement in 1985. During his term of office, the district reform fell from the old districts of Münsingen and Reutlingen to form the new district of Reutlingen. From 1976 to 1985 he was chairman of the board of directors of the municipal supply association Baden-Württemberg and from 1973 to 1983 chairman of the Reutlingen district association of the German Red Cross .

Gerhard Müller is co-editor of a practical commentary on civil service law in Baden-Württemberg.
