Edgar Wais

Edgar Wais (born March 3, 1940 in Stuttgart ) is a German politician.

Life

Edgar Wais is the son of the painter and graphic artist Alfred Wais . The doctor of law and local politician received his doctorate in 1966 at the University of Tübingen with the work The usability of incorrectly obtained evidence and unlawfully obtained evidence in civil proceedings . He was from 1985 until his retirement in 2005 District Administrator of the district Reutlingen . From 1997 to 2005 he was President of the Baden-Württemberg District Assembly and from 1999 also Vice President of the German District Assembly. By virtue of his office, Wais was active in several committees, administrative and supervisory boards at state and federal level. In 2005 he retired. In the same year he was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg . Since 2005 he has been chairman of the hardship commission of the federal state BW.
