Gerhard Preuss

Gerhard Preuss

Gerhard Preuß (born June 12, 1940 in Berlin ; † September 2, 2011 there ) was a German mathematician.

He made important contributions to the Convenient Topology as well as contributions to the General Topology and Categorical Topology. Doctorate and habilitation took place at the Free University of Berlin , where he was appointed professor in 1970. Gerhard Preuß was co-editor of the mathematical journal Mathematica Japonica and from 2009 until his death president of the Berlin Mathematical Society.
