Gerhard Vowinckel

Gerhard Vowinckel (born March 26, 1946 in Bielefeld ) is a German sociologist.

Life

He studied, received his doctorate in 1978 and completed his habilitation in 1983 at the University of Hamburg . He taught sociology at the University of Hamburg (1983 private lecturer for sociology, 1998 professor (§ 17 HmbHG) for sociology), the Helmut Schmidt University ( substitute professors at the chair for sociology 1984–1990; 1999–2001; 2004–2005) and the University of Lüneburg .

He researches affects, affect control and moral thinking and the connection of biological and psychological research results and theories with cultural-sociological analysis.
