Gerhard W. Wittkamper

Gerhard W. Wittkämper (born April 5, 1933 ) is a German political scientist .

Wittkämper studied law, economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne from 1956 to 1964 . From 1971 to 1975 he was Professor of Political Science at the Pedagogical University of the Rhineland , Cologne Department, and 1977 Honorary Professor at the University of Cologne. From 1975 to 1998 he taught as a university professor at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . During these years he headed the Institute for Political Science as Director and was Dean of Faculties 10 and 06 from 1978/79 and from 1985 to 1987. He continued to teach at the Institute until 2015.

Wittkämper's research focuses on the problems of organization and innovation in the state, administration and economy, criminal policy, structural change in technology, politics, administration and economy, problems of local and regional development, border issues of public law, global economic and European structural change as well as environmental policy.

Wittkämper was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation from 1974 to 1986 .
