Norbert Konegen

Norbert Konegen (born March 16, 1939 in Allenstein ) is a German political scientist .

biography

After completing an apprenticeship as a high-voltage electrician, Konegen attended the Pestalozzi School of Economics in Bremerhaven from 1959 to 1962 . Between 1962 and 1968 he studied business education and economics (degree Dipl. Volkswirt 1968) at the University of Cologne and received his doctorate there in 1970 with a dissertation on the interaction between expertise and political decision-making.

Konegen, who was a student of the founder of the political science school in Cologne , Ferdinand Hermens , initially worked for a year as a lecturer at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung , Alfred-Nau-Akademie in Bergneustadt, and from 1972 to 1975 as an employee of the Pedagogical University of the Rhineland . Konegen completed his habilitation there in political science with Gerhard W. Wittkämper .

After holding a professorship at the Technical University of Braunschweig from 1975 , he became professor for economic and financial policy at the Institute for Political Science at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , where he retired in 2004 .

His work and research focuses on German and European economic and financial policy as well as German domestic and local politics. He is the author and editor of numerous scientific papers.
