Christian von Hartig

Christian von Hartig (born May 16, 1605 in Zittau ; † May 1, 1677 there ) was mayor of Zittau.

Life

Christian von Hartig from the noble Hartig attended by philosophy - and medical studies in Frankfurt (Oder) , Strasbourg and Geneva for his further education France , England , the Netherlands and Denmark , then went over Leipzig and Augsburg to Venice and Padua , where he at 21 July 1629 became a doctor of medicine. In Venice he gained high recognition and was defeated by Nicolò Contarini on August 12, 1629 in the republic assembly to the Knight of Mark (Cavaliere di San Marco).

After a short stay, he returned to his homeland in 1630 and was appointed Scabinus to the Council of Zittau on October 7, 1632 , where he later administered the city judge's office from 1634–1637 and in 1639, 1642, 1645, 1648, 1651, 1654 , 1657, 1660, 1662, 1665, 1668, 1671, 1673 as mayor of the council.

Together with his siblings Johann Jacob Hartig, Venetian personal physician, and Sibylla Hartig, he was on October 15, 1645 in Linz by Emperor Ferdinand III. raised to the knightly imperial nobility.

In 1645 von Hartig bought the Althörnitz manor from Christoph von Gersdorf auf Zimpel and had a castle built by master Valentin from Zittau in 1651–1654 .

Hartig was married to Emerantia Kindler (d. 1648) and married Dorothea Schede on October 26, 1652 in Dresden .
