Gerhard Westram

Gerhard Westram (born October 29, 1907 in Burg (near Magdeburg) , † July 17, 1977 ) was a German lawyer .

Career

Westram was born as the son of the elementary school teacher and later rector Fritz Westram. He attended the state Viktoria-Gymnasium in Burg, where he passed the school leaving examination in 1926. He then studied law at the Universities of Würzburg, Berlin and Halle and passed the first state law examination on November 29, 1929 at the Naumburg Higher Regional Court. In the summer semester of 1926 he became a member of the Germania student fraternity in Würzburg . In 1931 he completed his studies with a doctorate ( Dr. iur. ) At the University of Halle . From 1934 to 1942 he was the managing director of the Berlin Pottery Guild. Then he was drafted into military service. From 1946 to 1951 he worked for the Berlin Public Prosecutor and since 1948 Senior Public Prosecutor at the District Court's Public Prosecutor's Office . From 1951 to 1972 he was Federal Prosecutor at the Federal Prosecutor's Office , Berlin Office, and since 1959 permanent representative of the Federal Ministry of Justice at the Agent of the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin.
