Gerhard Zierl

Gerhard Zierl (* 1949 ) is a German lawyer and former President of the Munich District Court .

Life

Zierl attended the Ludwigsgymnasium in Munich and studied law . After completing the second state examination , he began his career in 1976 at the Munich I public prosecutor's office. In December 1979, he moved to the Munich District Court. In the summer of 1984 he became managing director and later director of the German Judges Academy in Trier . In June 1988 he moved to the Bavarian Ministry of Justice , where he worked as press spokesman from 1991 . With the exception of a one-year break, during which he was presiding judge at the Munich District Court I , he held the office until 2002. From 2002 to 2014 he was President of the Munich District Court and then retired.

Gerhard Zierl has been the publisher of the Citizens' Pocket Book since the 28th edition in 1995 .
