Gerhart Hauptmann memorial stone (Radebeul)
The Gerhart Hauptmann memorial stone is located at Gerhart Hauptmann Strasse 12 in the Zitzschewig district of Radebeul in Saxony . It is reminiscent of the German poet and playwright Gerhart Hauptmann .

The large syenite stone stands in a niche in a property wall , on it is attached a black stone slab engraved with the name “Gerhart Hauptmann”.
In 1924 the street at the location was named after Hauptmann; the former Zitzschewiger school (house number 12) at this location bore Hauptmann's name from 1949. In the same year, 1949, the memorial stone was erected at the location described.
The community-owned school Zitzschewig on the Huhlberg was built in 1841/1842, had to be expanded in 1876 and 1895 and was given a new gymnasium in 1915.
Not far away, in the Zitzschewiger Hohenhaus , Gerhart Hauptmann had met his future wife Marie, one of the three Thienemann sisters who married the three Hauptmann brothers, in the 19th century.
