The list of historical schools in Radebeul gives an overview of current and former schools in the Saxon city of Radebeul and their buildings, which are either or were under monument protection or which, due to historical mention in past centuries , are still received today in the area of the Lößnitz .

history

Up until the 19th century, the schools, known as sexton schools or church schools, were an institution of the respective parish . In Kötzschenbroda , church schooling was given at the beginning of the 15th century, the oldest associated, well-known place is the schoolroom, which was set up in the sextoy on the market square in 1572 after the Reformation. The building burned down several times and was rebuilt, the reconstruction built after the fire in 1803 can be found at Altkötzschenbroda 38 . This house, later named the main school building, only got a second classroom in 1850, when this too was later no longer sufficient, a secondary school building was built in the back of the garden in 1864, which can be found today at Vorwerkstraße 14 . Just as a central church school in Kötzschenbroda was responsible for the western Lößnitz communities and their wider environment, there was an institution in the parish of the branch church in Kaditz from 1617 with the church school there for the eastern Lößnitz communities and their eastern neighboring villages.

From the middle of the 17th century the first kid teacher settled in the surrounding villages, so Martin Kirchbach, from 1,649 in Naundorf and Zitzschewig children in the form of a row- or change school taught, that is every day in the room of another farmer from the he was also fed. In 1783 the Naundorf community was the first to build a community-owned schoolhouse ( Altnaundorf 40 ) on the Angerteich in the Lößnitz area , which survived numerous devastating village fires and is still standing today. After the introduction of the Saxon Elementary School Act of 1835, with which eight years of compulsory schooling were introduced, a school was also established in the area of the Niederlößnitzer Weinbergsverein in 1838 ( Winzerstraße 72 ), although the Niederlößnitz community was not formally founded until one year later, followed by Zitzschewig in 1842 with the building on the Huhlberge (today Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße 12 ).

In addition to these elementary schools, private schools repeatedly emerged that offered further education or addressed the better circles , such as Carl Lang's internationally renowned educational institution for boys on Wackerbarths Ruh ' , where Johann Peter Hundiker also taught, or the 1823 by Dr. of the world wisdom Serrius in the Grundhof established teaching and educational institute for boys . In 1868/1869, with the Luisenstift as an institution for daughters of higher classes, girls were given the opportunity for better education. Other private schools were, for example, the Hoffmannsche Knabeninstitut or Krieger's higher teaching and educational institution for daughters . It was not until 1906/1907 that the Realschule with Progymnasium in the Lößnitz became a public higher educational institution for the Radebeul area.
