The spa building at Schweizerstraße 3 is located in the Niederlößnitz district of the Saxon city of Radebeul . The current house was an extension to Dr. Kadner's Sanatorium and later the Herder Institute Radebeul Department .

The two-storey rental villa, which is now a listed building including the enclosure, is a “stately, palais-like building” in the “ French Renaissance style ”. It stands on a basement floor , and a slate-covered, extended platform attic rises above the two floors , which is illuminated by segment-arched portholes .

The five-axis street view is symmetrical; there are barely protruding, single-axis side projections on both sides . In the left side view there is a two-axis side elevation on the left, in front of the back on the right there is a single-storey glazed wooden veranda with an exit on top. In the right side view there is a risky entrance porch.

The simplified today stucco building is Geschossgesimse divided, added some restored partly Putznutungen or pilasters . The windows are partly rounded, partly segmented.

The enclosure consists of lancet fence fields between sandstone pillars with cover plates.

history

In 1890 the owner of Dr. Kadner's Sanatorium , Georg Johannes Kadner, the construction of a seven-extension in the north of the Borstraße outgoing Swiss street , three plots away from his institution. Since the request was not granted, he applied again in February 1892 for an additional building, this time a little smaller. The design and the later execution came from the builder and architect Adolf Neumann . The building permit was issued in March of that year, and construction was completed in November 1892.

As part of the Curanstalt , Schweizerstrasse was sold to Gustav Rudolf Johann Oeder in 1899 , who named it together with the main facility as Dr. Oeder's diet spa continues to operate. In the second half of the 20th century, the building was also used as part of the ensemble by the Central School for Foreign Citizens for language preparation for production-related training for language training for young people from abroad. This then renamed the Herder Institute Radebeul Department .

Today, Schweizerstrasse 3 is a residential building. At the 2006 builder award of the city of Radebeul , the client, the ownership company of the city of Radebeul, was recognized with prize money.
