Schweizerstrasse
The Swiss road is a city road in the Saxon town of Radebeul , in the district Niederlößnitz , the large area there as a 30 kph zone is shown. You will Dehio manual as an example of an entire street of houses, dominated by Swiss-houses listed, so of villas in Swiss style .
Development
The numbering of the house addresses starts on Borstrasse on the west side, i.e. on the left. From there the numbers run to No. 13, the even numbers on the east side to No. 14; then the eastern parallel street of Zillerstraße crosses Winzerstraße . To the north of it, continue to No. 25 on the corner of Paradiesstrasse .
Several cultural monuments are located along the Schweizerstraße and are therefore included in the list of cultural monuments in Radebeul-Niederlößnitz (M – Z) , some also with addresses of cross streets:
- Borstraße 14 , no. 3 , no. 5, no. 6, no. 13, Heinrich-barge-Strasse 1, no. 15 , no. 23
No. 3, the former spa building of Dr. Kadner's Sanatorium , after its renovation after the fall of the Wall, received recognition in the category of monument preservation repairs on the occasion of the Radebeul Builder Prize 2006 .
designation
In 1884 the street was named Neue Straße ; In 1897 it was renamed Schweizerstraße , after the Swiss style of the villas that were built there. In the years 1934 to 1945 it was called Von-Killinger-Straße after the Saxon Prime Minister Manfred von Killinger , then it was renamed.
Residents
Max Manitius lived in No. 11 from 1911 to 1933.
