Villa Louise Maria Koch

description

The listed villa stands on a tapering plot of land at the confluence of Schweizerstraße and Borstraße, with the building oriented perpendicular to the top. The one-and-a-half-story house stands on a basement floor , which is designed as a broken stone base. The ground floor and the mezzanine-like attic above it with a slightly higher jamb under the gently sloping gable roof are plastered.

On the south side, towards the garden and the top of the property, there is a two-storey, polygonal porch with a hipped roof . In front of this is a single-storey arbor with a flight of stairs to the garden. The windows and the garden door of the arbor are framed by colored glass from the construction period in an Art Nouveau style . To the right and left of the arbor there are terraces at the level of the ground floor, which are drained by sandstone gargoyles .

On the narrow sides of the building there is a figure niche with a platform in the middle. The windows are framed by sandstone walls. The facades are structured by cornices and corner squares.

history

With a design by the Dresden master builder August Seifert, the building application was made in August 1881, but it was only approved in July 1883. The building inspection took place in June of the following year 1884.

In August 1916, the engineer Gottfried zur Linden applied for an existing veranda to be converted into a single-storey arbor. The planning and executing architect was Paul Ziller .

A comprehensive renovation of the house took place in 2010/2011, which was presented to the public on the Open Monument Day 2011.
