description

The building ensemble of the school building is made up of several structures. The actual school building is on the left on Steinbachstrasse, and to the right (west) is a single-storey connecting building to the gym. This is on Roseggerstrasse on the corner with Weintraubenstrasse. Behind it to the railway is the sports field of the Lößnitzstadion. Behind the main building of the school building, a deep, four-axis side wing is attached to the rear.

The three-story school building is on a basement floor ; it also has a high gable roof. On the main ridge there is a cube-shaped roof turret with a clock, above it a lantern top with a weathercock.

The roughly rectangular main building has an only slightly protruding central projection with a width of four axes, which is emphasized by a high, curved gable with spherical crowns. In the middle of the risalit is the protruding main entrance above a five-step flight of stairs, a round arched portal made of sandstone with a volute gable, plus an egg stick , cartouches and a keystone.

The fountain to the left of the main entrance is back in operation today.

In front of the left side edge there is a corresponding, but slimmer risalit with a gable. In front of this is a large sandstone wall fountain, which was created by the sculptor Richard König . The fountain bowl is a sandstone semicircle with a gargoyle (fish head), the other wall design is a gothic round arched niche with an egg stick as well as lateral motifs of bowls and putti.

The right side view of the school building is formed by a stepped gable, underneath is the connecting building to the gym, which bends at an angle of about 135 °. The gymnasium is adorned with wide tail gables and ball attachments.

The schoolyard enclosure consists partly of an embossed sandstone wall, interrupted in the upper part by pillars.

In front of the main building on Steinbachstraße there is a small, triangular park that is bordered by Steinbachstraße, Roseggerstraße and Moritz-Garte-Steg.
