description

On the left side of the Meissen street was traufständig a two storey building with five narrow window bays and gable roof with Hecht Gaube dating back to 1791. In the right pane axis below there was a segmental arch - portal with a medallion with the inscriptions "CFW", "P. Office No. 6 1791 "and" JRW ".

The much higher two-storey hall building on the street corner stood at the gable facing Meißner Straße, it also had a gable roof. The plastered facades of both buildings were later greatly simplified, the window and door frames were made of sandstone.

history

The "probably much older" shower bar was first mentioned in 1479, and the first innkeeper known by name was T. Mögel in 1525.

In the first third of the 16th century, the Brauschenkengut was the reason for the Zitzschewiger beer dispute between the Council of Dresden and the Meißner Bishop , to whose resolution Duke George the Bearded decreed that “in addition to self-production (from 50 bushels of barley) at their own discretion, Dresdeners and Meißner as well as from Donati to Michaelis (August 7th to September 29th) "Freiberg Beer" may also be served.

In 1683, the regular carriage connection from Dresden to Leipzig was set up, with the Zitzschewig inn as the first post office to Dresden. The inn retained this importance until the Leipzig – Dresden rail link was established in 1839.

After a fire on the property in 1859, the ballroom and a guest garden were rebuilt. In 1884 the property consisted of an inn, malt house , brewery , hall extension, cone house, stable and barn. In 1893 the brewing business was stopped and in 1896 the associated farm was separated.

Around 1908 the inn was called Börners Gasthof , a sign with the words Börners Lindengarten led to the guest garden . This was right next to the Radler Heim . Then there was a cycle track and a festival meadow, where “ bird shooting and other amusements” took place.

After the Second World War, the inn was closed and from 1954, during the GDR era, it was used as part of a factory and warehouse for household chemicals and pesticides. When the factory was closed after the fall of the Wall, the building was left to decay and was therefore torn down in 2008.
