Large (builder family)

The family of master builders Large from Kötzschenbroda presented in Saxony Lößnitz , the area of today Radebeul , for many generations, from the early 18th century until the 20th century, builders , architects and other construction activities with the Connected, with the time of their greatest influence from the second half of the 19th century to the beginning of the First World War.

In particular, the following belonged to the Kötzschenbroda master builder family:

  • Friedrich August Große (active 1861-1891), master builder and master mason, father of:
  • Gottfried Große (around 1830), master mason
  • Johann Christian Große (active around 1715), master mason
  • Karl Moritz Große (1835–1898), bricklayer and master builder and community elder of Kötzschenbroda (1864–1892) (buried in the Radebeul-West cemetery ), took over his father's construction business in 1861 and handed it over to the sons in 1896 ( Meißner Straße 248):
    • Hugo Große (active 1867–1903), master mason, carpenter and builder, co-owner of the Gebrüder Große construction company
    • Moritz Alfred Große (1861–1946), master builder, co-owner of the construction company Gebrüder Große , later as Moritz Alfred Große, master builder
  • Johann Traugott Große (1800–1861), master mason and master carpenter (buried in the churchyard in Kötzschenbroda )

The official successor to the company from Bernhard Große was taken over by the architect and builder Arthur Hanns as Bernhard Große Nachf. (1924: residential and commercial building Moritzburger Straße 3 ).
