Villa Friedrich Wilhelm Schwenk
The Villa Friedrich Wilhelm Schwenk is located in the Kötzschenbroda district of the Saxon city of Radebeul , at Meißner Straße 247.
description
The eaves-standing , listed residential building is a single-storey, country house- like villa . It stands on a narrow, elongated property and has a larger front garden facing the street.
The building has a jamb with a slate roof . In each of the eaves sides there is a central projection , and on both sides of its triangular gable facing the street there are wide roof extensions.
The plastered facades show reduced structural elements that have recently been restored. The windows framed by sandstone walls are protected by horizontal roofs.
history
According to the building application from January 1869, the sculptor Friedrich Wilhelm Schwenk had acquired the field plot a short time beforehand in order to build a house and side building on it. The local builder Moritz Große undertook the construction work according to his own design. The construction inspection took place in November 1870. Schwenk died just three months later.
In 1934 the roof was extended by Alfred Große's construction company .
Today there is the public studio address of the visual artist and architect Gerlinde Queißer .
