Christian Friedrich by Gregory
Christian Friedrich Gregory, from 1789 Freiherr von Gregory (born September 14, 1757 in Dresden , † October 5, 1834 in Peuke , district of Oels ) was a German merchant and banker , an electoral Saxon court chamber councilor and a gentleman in Großkmehlen .
Live and act
The merchant Gregory, who belonged to the circle of friends of the Saxon Prince Maximilian , owned a bank in the Hotel de Pologne in Dresden .
In 1776 he inherited from his father, the Berlin merchant Albert Friedrich Gregory (1728–1776), his family's majorate property in what would later become Oberlößnitz , the Haus Sorgefrei vineyard property . There he had what is now a listed ensemble built in the Dresden braid style from 1783 to 1789 using parts of the previous building. Between 1793 and 1797, Gregory also owned the Remse estate with the Remse Castle and the court of Oberlungwitz Abbey .
In 1789 Gregory was raised to the rank of imperial nobility and baron.
Between 1785 and 1796 he also owned what would later become the Villa Wach . In 1798, Gregory acquired the estate of Schloss Wackerbarth , and the following year he bought the vineyard, which was directly adjacent to the fly whisk (see fly whisk house ), both of which he owned until 1808 or 1809.
