Bailiffs Office (Lithuania)

A bailiff's office is the office space and the company or business of a bailiff or several bailiffs.

In Lithuania, only bailiffs can be admitted that a firm seat have. The law firm can be the office of a single bailiff as well as the offices of a medium-sized or larger bailiff's office. The bailiff can be reached by his clients in the bailiff's office, where he will (usually) hold meetings with clients and process his files. In the office, the bailiff creates all the personnel and organizational requirements for exercising his profession.

The following organizational forms of a bailiff's office are conceivable:

  • Single judicial officer
  • Chancellery of one or more bailiffs (organizational group only).

The legal basis for the organization of the Bailiffs Office is Chapter V of the Lithuanian Bailiffs Act . A bailiffs office can set up a department for the operational area after approval from the Minister of Justice of Lithuania. The bailiff must inform the Ministry of Justice (Lithuania) and the relevant district court in whose territory he is acting about the change of the address of the office or other information . It must also be published in the national newspapers as well as in a local newspaper. The Minister of Justice determines the shape of a bailiff's office sign.
