German Jazz Masters

The jazz formation German Jazz Masters is a band project by musicians such as Albert Mangelsdorff , Klaus Doldinger , Manfred Schoof , Wolfgang Dauner , Wolfgang Haffner and Eberhard Weber . This idea was born in 1996 at a birthday concert for trumpeter Manfred Schoof in the Cologne Philharmonic . These German Jazz Masters went on tour in 2000 and had performances a. a. at the Burghausen Jazz Festival .

After Albert Mangelsdorff's death in 2005, his seat at the live concerts remained vacant. Since autumn 2005 Curt Cress has played in place of Wolfgang Haffner at the German Jazz Masters and from 2008 Meinhard "Obi" Jenne . The bass player is currently Wolfgang Schmid .
