Germania - quarterly for German antiquity

Germania. Quarterly magazine for German antiquity is the title of a Germanistic magazine dealing with Old High German and Middle High German literature . It was founded in 1856 by Franz Pfeiffer and initially appeared in Stuttgart with JB Metzler , later in Vienna with Carl Gerhold's son .

After twelve volumes a “new series” was started, volume 13 thus corresponds to volume 1 of the new series. The last volume (37, new series: 25) appeared in 1892.

The editors were Franz Pfeiffer (1856–1868), Karl Bartsch (1869–1887) and Otto Behaghel (1888–1892).
