history

FC Germania from the Weidenhausen district was initially one of the leading football clubs in Marburg and played several times in the top league until 1933.

In 1956, he was promoted to the then third -rate Hessen Football League after the namesake Germania Fulda was defeated 2-1 after extra time in the decisive relegation game . But the 1956/57 season ended with the last place in the table, which resulted in the immediate relegation to the 2nd amateur league Hessen.

The club's history ended in 1961 when a game community called “Sportfreunde Marburg” was formed with the neighboring club FSV Ockershausen .
