Gerold Hug

Gerold Hug (born November 26, 1958 ) is a German journalist and radio director of Südwestrundfunk (SWR).

Career

Hug's journalistic work began after high school and basic military service as a trainee at the Südkurier in Konstanz and as a reporter at the Express in Cologne. He then switched to radio and became an editor at SWF3 Popshop . In 1996/97 he became project manager of the SWF / SDR youth radio DASDING and deputy program manager at SWF3. With the merger of SWF and SDR to form Südwestrundfunk (SWR) in September 1998, Hug became program director of the new wave SWR3 . Since February 1, 2009, he has been in charge of strategic corporate development at Südwestrundfunk, and on August 1, 2011, he again became program manager of SWR3. In the summer of 2012, Hug was appointed radio director for Südwestrundfunk.
