The Owl Event Center (until October 2011: Gerry Weber Event & Convention Center , until January 2020: Gerry Weber Event Center ) is an event location in Halle (Westphalia) , which is located in the immediate vicinity of the OWL ARENA .
history
The Owl Event Center opened on June 5, 2002 and is part of the OWL Arena World . Originally the tent-like construction was only planned as a temporary structure for the VIP area during the tennis tournament , but was then completed as a permanent event location. Located right next to the OWL Arena, the Owl Event Center offers 3500 square meters of space for up to 3000 people. It also has an 800 square meter terrace located on a still water, which is mainly used in the summer months.
Events
Numerous events have been held at the Owl Event Center since 2002. This includes trade fairs and incentives as well as concerts, children's performances, TV or comedy shows. So far, The Kelly Family , Roland Kaiser , Revolverheld , Die Münchener Freiheit , Cindy from Marzahn , Helge Schneider , Mirja Boes and Rüdiger Hoffmann have performed at the Owl Event Center . Annual events include the Hall Oktoberfest and the Bowers & Wilkins Rhythm'n'Blues Festival .
In addition, the Owl Event Center functions as a VIP area during the Noventi Open, in which the Gala Night also takes place. Since 2016, the Club500 has also been built in the Owl Event Center for the tennis tournament, a 160 square meter, specially designed location that conveys an authentic club feeling.
