Gertrud Tressnitz

Gertrud Tressnitz , actually Gertrud Katharina Trebitz , (* 1881 , † around 1946 ), was a German actress .

Life

Tressnitz, daughter of pastor Johann Christian Karl Trebitz , celebrated her successes in the field of sentimental and youthful heroines, especially at the Royal Court Theater in Dresden . After working at the Court Theater Meiningen (1904/1905) and the Court Theater Dessau she took over in Dresden on 19 September 1907 as the inaugural role Kriemhild in Die Nibelungen by Friedrich Hebbel . On July 1, 1907, she was engaged for five years in place of court actress Alice Politz. Her engagement in Dresden lasted until June 1917.

She also took part in the opening ceremony of the International Hygiene Exhibition in Dresden in 1911 . There are several photos of her that were made by the Dresden theater photographer Hugo Erfurth .

After completing her theater career, she performed in Berlin with Rilke recitation evenings. Sidonie Nadherny mentions her in a letter to Rilke: “My dear Rainer - today just a few lines about Frln. Tressnitz, a touching, dear, good person, with whom I now lived in Berlin for a few days, after having first visited the Lichnowskys, who then had to travel. Her life's work is to hold Rilke evenings; she now had one in Dresden in honor of her 50th birthday. She was in Leipzig at Inselverlag to interest him in Rilke evenings. She threw Dr. Krippenberg, who by the way is under a great psych. Occasional guest performances in the winter of 1918/1919 in Dresden, April 1921 Staatstheater Berlin, November 1921 Großes Schauspielhaus Berlin, January 1922 Lessingtheater Berlin, August 1922 Hauptmann Festival Breslau, October / November 1922 and January / February 1922 Staatstheater Dresden, January 1923 are occasional without permanent engagements State Theater Arnstadt occupied (State Archives Dresden).

The Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden provide evidence of a sculpture (bust, plaster, 1924, inventory number ASN 0918) that depicts Gertrud Tressnitz and that was made by Oelsner von Lorck, Glenny.
