Gerwald Mandl (born October 20, 1940 in Tamsweg ) is an emeritus Austrian professor of business administration .

Life

After studying at the University of World Trade in Vienna and completing his habilitation in 1978, he was director of the Institute for Business Education from 1979 to 1985 and director of the Institute for Audit, Fiduciary and Accounting and the Institute for Corporate Accounting from 1986 to 2009 of the University of Graz . From 1992–1994 he was dean of the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Graz. He retired in October 2009.

From around the mid-1990s, Gerwald Mandl devoted himself more to methodological questions and found that there was a lack of a closed and systematic treatment of the complex subject area of company valuation .

With his book "Company Valuation - A Practice-Oriented Introduction" published in 1997 (together with Klaus Rabel) he succeeded in closing this gap. Today the book is one of the classics of literature on this subject.
