Protected landscape component field trees on the Prierberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protected landscape component of field trees on the Prierberg with an area of 0.58  ha is located in the urban area of Marsberg northwest of Udorf in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis as a protected landscape component (LB). In the north it borders directly on the county and state border. The LB is otherwise surrounded by the Prierberg nature reserve .

description

The landscape plan explains the LB: “Immediately south of the state border on the Prierberg, a larger, dense field wood with hedge-like foothills extends on pronounced embankment edges. In the tree layer, trembling aspen, white willow and bird cherry predominate; the shrub layer is mainly made up of native thorn bushes and black elder. Herb fringes from ecologically inconspicuous species have developed along the edges. To the east - outside of the demarcation - there is a larger poor pasture, which is impaired in the upper part by bushes and in the lower part by manure drift from adjacent arable land. The woods contribute significantly to the ecological and aesthetic enrichment of the predominantly intensively used agricultural landscape. They also complement similar structures across the border on the summit and the north side of the Prierberg. "

Protection purpose

The designation as LB took place:

  • To maintain, develop or restore the efficiency and functionality of the natural balance
  • For revitalizing, structuring or maintaining the townscape and landscape
  • To ward off harmful effects

Like the other LBs in the landscape plan area, the LB represents an outstanding habitat for the ecological performance of the natural balance. It also serves as an element that structures and animates the landscape. The designation serves to ward off real or potential harmful effects through the removal of plants, relief or water changes, etc.
